Makes me wonder how long an F-16 could fly straight up if he was pushing far past the speed of sound?

No idea really, probably it canīt even fly straight up with all that load, suppose I have to be more careful next time!  :-)

Also SpitfirePilot

Since you beg the question, the F-16 can go straight up for a bit, but you'll be bleeding speed the whole time you do it because even clean the thrust to weight ratio is less than 1. To get vertical acceleration you need an F-15 A or C, or an old English Electric Lightning.

How about F-18?

From Wikipedia, and based on the C/D, that's going to depend on fuel burnt at time of climb. I cited the Lightning  and F-15 because they have thrust/mass better than unity with full internal fuel and weapons, plus at least some missiles.

No problems; I meant that this is technically possible, but it's tactically suspect unless you'd say, just tanked and needed to get some extra altitude in a small area prior to an intercept.

I thought of this shot more like that the pilot was bored to take those patrols all the time, so he posed his Viper for the wingman. Nothing tactical or dangerous, just an ordinary flight with some fun.

highly photo-realistic work ! the only thing that would make me suspect that it is not a photo is that the plane is going so vertical with reheat - and with tanks....!

yes really cool, F-16 is a nice war jet and your rendering stuns a lot.

super image!!!
these 3D models really rock. I only know how to use CS5 so far, but the 3D field is really attractive. I have a question, can 3D jet images be used with CS5 Adobe program?

Thanks a lot!! To answer your question, the images arenīt 3D at all, only the models. So, you can use them as you like, I do the whole post processing in CS too. And yes, itīs worth the trouble to learn 3D, itīs quite amazing stuff!

I know the image is not 3D, but I was talking about the F-16C only. Can you explain a bit the process of using such 3D jet models in a background like this one, many thanks :)
