In the Moonlight by itifonhom In the Moonlight by itifonhom
Just another moonlight scene, this time a lonely Lancaster flying through the skies of Germany, returning home. Now, Iīm sure such a dark scene is highly monitor depended and many of you will have some hard times viewing this image properly but it was just fine for my monitor and my settings, so I canīt really do anything about it.
3D model from Renderosity (with new Color, Bump and Specular maps by me), background image comes from me (itīs really over Germany!), rendered in Lightwave and post processed in Photoshop.
P.S. Yes, at some time I need to do a night scene with a Lancaster AND a Me-110 in, itīs already in the "to-do" list.

Awesome picture! Hard to see in the pitch black with only the moon for illumination. :wow:

Model comes from Renderosity and can be found here John:[link] Rather cheap but also simple. I had to do all the maps again to get a descent result but now looks quite nice, even when viewed from near.

Good work on the lanc, reminds me of one of those old comic book shots.
I reckon it could do with a searchlight somewhere though. Just to add drama. :D

Thanks, really appreciate it! Thought of the searchlights too but decided to kept it peaceful this time, just the Lanc, the night and the moon, no danger.

I love this artwork!
Im kinda partial to lancasters, tbh. My grandpa flew one in WW2, and was a bombedier and navigator, and he did NOT like the germans, at all.
