Description
During the Invasion of Normandy 70 years ago, many brave pilots offered close air support to the landing troops, with many mission types that were both mostly dangerous and hard to master. Two of these pilots, Pierre Clostermann and G.L. Robinson flew the beautiful Spitfire Mk.IXc during June ´44 over France in support of the Allied troops with the 602 ( City of Glasgow) Squadron. Both their aircraft (LO-D and LO-C) featured the well known "Invasion stripes", though in slightly different configurations. Clostermann will be the first French pilot to land in France again, touching French soil for the first time in more than four years.
Fully fictional scene of the two pilots patrolling over France during June ´44 in search of the Luftwaffe and other targets of opportunity.
